This site is a long-form space for philosophical inquiry.
It brings together essays and sustained reflections on knowledge, thought, understanding, authorship, and the changing role of the knowing subject. These questions have become increasingly important in an age shaped by artificial intelligence and distributed forms of cognition.
The site does not aim at rapid commentary or fixed answers. Ideas are revisited, arguments are revised, and positions may change as the inquiry develops. What remains constant is the attempt to understand the structures that make knowledge and thinking possible.
The project is centred on the questions explored in my book After the Knowing Subject. The book examines what happens to knowledge when the human knowing subject can no longer be assumed to occupy its traditional central position. It is held in the collection of the National Library of Australia.
